2SLGBTQIA+ Health
Everyone deserves healthcare where they feel safe, respected and understood. At FamilyDoctorYYC, we are proud to provide inclusive, knowledgeable and affirming primary care for 2SLGBTQIA+ people of all ages and identities. Our approach is rooted in dignity, compassion and partnership. Your identity is valid, your experiences matter, and you will never need to justify who you are.
We recognise that members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community often face unique barriers in accessing healthcare — from past negative experiences to concerns about discrimination, misunderstanding or stigma. Our goal is to remove those barriers and ensure that you can access care comfortably and confidently.
Our services include, but are not limited to:
Gender-affirming primary care, including diagnostic evaluation, hormone management and referrals
Sexual health services tailored to diverse bodies, relationships and practices — without judgment
PrEP and HIV prevention strategies, as well as support for people living with HIV
Mental health support, including referrals and advocacy for identity-related stress, dysphoria, trauma or discrimination
General physical healthcare delivered with awareness of the community’s specific needs and challenges
Holistic support that acknowledges identity, relationships, social context and lived experience
Care is offered in a safe, affirming environment where names, pronouns and identities are respected without hesitation. We understand the importance of privacy, sensitivity and cultural competence, and we are committed to continuous learning in partnership with our patients and community.
Whether you are looking for routine family medicine, support with gender transition, sexual health services, mental health care, or simply a doctor you don’t have to “educate” before being understood, you are welcome here.
If you would like to register as a patient or learn more about our services, please contact the clinic. You deserve healthcare where you can show up exactly as you are — and feel safe doing so.
